Paid Summer Internships for High School Juniors and Sophomores!


Expanding Horizons Internships (EHI) has provided first-generation, college-bound high school students in the Los Angeles area with an intensive experience of skill development and personal growth that prepares them for college, career, and civic life. The EHI program begins with interactive seminars in the spring and concludes with a paid summer internship at a prestigious law firm, corporation, government agency, or non-profit organization.

Expanding Horizons Internships is a dynamic program that provides you the opportunity to:

  • Challenge yourself in new ways
  • Be exposed to the professional working world
  • Cultivate networking opportunities from successful professionals & other high school students from Los Angeles
  • Improve your communication, collaboration, & leadership skills
  • Gain confidence, responsibility, and a sense of independence
  • Receive SAT prep & college admissions advice from experts
  • Become civically engaged

If you are a junior or sophomore and meet the following criteria:

  • Neither parent attended a four-year college
  • Attend a Title I school
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Available and attend all seminar and internship dates
