Board Member Engages CAP Classroom

On November 12, CRF board member David DiMeglio visited Roosevelt High School (RHS) in Boyle Heights to support the classroom of CAP teacher Carlos Castillo. At this session, David interacted with CAP students as they examined Chicago’s Gang Congregation Ordinance of 1992. This topic is the focus of Lesson 5 of the CAP curriculum and was selected by Mr. Castillo to help his students understand the impact of public policy and the gang injunction currently in effect in their own RHS school-community. The experience was mutually affirming and reinforced the benefit of providing CRF classrooms with the opportunity to interact with legal professionals.
