Building Democracy

The process of building democracy and democratic institutions is long and ongoing. Articles in this edition of Bill of Rights in Action examine historical and current examples of this process. The first article looks at the debates over the U.S. Constitution at the Constitutional Convention. The second article explores the medieval beginnings of Parliament, the great body representative government. The last article examines the history of American public schools and how we are preparing our young people to participate in our democracy.

Current Issue: Every New Generation
