Resources for Learning in the Time of COVID-19: Webcast

This webinar brought together middle and high school students from across the country as part of CRF’s ongoing efforts to support students, teachers, and families working to sustain at-home learning and engagement during the COVID-19 crisis.

The webinar is led by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior Sari Kaufman and Duke University freshman Casey Sherman. Kaufman and Sherman are survivors of the 2018 Stoneman Douglas shooting, co-organizers of the Parkland March for Our Lives, and co-founders of Empower the People. They are joined by two members of CRF’s Civic Action Project Youth Board -- Gracie Rice of Vadnais Heights, MN and Blanca Godoy of Los Angeles, CA as co-facilitators.

This online learning event provided young people from at least ten different states an opportunity to share their experiences of dealing with the pandemic, but they quickly moved from sharing their own disappointments to discussing the far-reaching hardships the virus has meant for others and zeroed in on what young people (and all of us) can do to take action to support our communities and each other.
