Essay Questions for World History #1

Please prepare both questions with notes. You must present your notes before you can take the exam. You must use three (that=s 3) sources. One can be either your text book or an encyclopedia. The other two have to be books or periodicals.

1. What is meant by AContainment@? Who came up with the idea? Who implemented the concept and why. What effect did this have on post WWII World History?

2. Give a brief history of either the Vietnam or Korean conflict and explain the term ALimited War@. Next, what lessons can be learned from either of these experiences?
