Registration Instructions

• Step One: Pre-Register your school to participate in the mock trial program. (School Registration )
  
  
• Step Two: One school staff representative from your team attend orientation. (See Important Reminders Below)
  
  
• Step Three: Complete all team registration materials online and submit fees and permission slips by Oct. 9
  
  
• Step Four: Bring copies of the following forms to each trial: Observer, Time Sheet, Award Nomination, Clerk and Bailiff Notes, Case Packet and California Mock Trial Competition Team Rulebook    

Important Reminders

• The orientation will take place on September 17 at CRF offices,  located at 601. S. Kingsley Drive, Los Angeles 90005. The meeting will begin at 5:00p.m. and a limited number of hard copies of the cases will be distributed shortly thereafter. The case will also be available to download from our website beginning at 3:00 pm on September 17th. Only registered schools will receive the passcode to download the case materials.
  
  
• To be eligible to compete in Round 1, you must complete and submit the School Registration by September 11.
  
  
• We must also receive a check or purchase order for your school’s entry fee in the amount of $450 by October 9. All checks should be made payable to CRF. Each team must be registered by a teacher sponsor or school administrator from the registered team’s school.
  
  
• A late fee of $25.00 will be assessed if forms and fees are not submitted by the deadline October 9.
  
  
• If your team is interested in serving as a substitute team (in the event of an uneven number of competing teams), please e-mail Laura Wesley ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
  
  
• This means that during a given round, your team that is not presenting may participate in a practice round against another team. There is no additional fee to participate as a substitute team. We cannot guarantee that any school will have the opportunity to provide a substitute team. Substitute teams scores will not count during the competition and will be considered as practice only.
