GENERAL COMPETITION INFORMATION | TEAM INFORMATION | COUNTY COORDINATOR INFORMATION

Congratulations on your county’s outstanding participation in CRF’s 28th Annual California Mock Trial Program! The following information contains details for county participation at the state finals in Riverside, March 20-22. All winning teams will need to complete Team Registration section on our web site to compete at the state competition. If your county is sending a courtroom artist or journalist, they must complete the Courtroom Artist Registration or Courtroom Journalist Registration sections on our web site. The only physical forms that need to be returned to CRF, are the student permission slips and fees form. The final deadline for all forms and fees to be received by CRF is March 4, 2009. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed for all forms received after March 4, 2009.

Please confirm your county winner has completed the following steps:

Step One: Register your team and students for State Finals by March 4.

Step Two: Reviewed General Competition Information and Team Information

Step Three: Reserve hotel by March 4 via Hotel Rooming List available from county coordinator.

Step Four: Returned Permission Slips and Fees to CRF by March 4.

Step Five: Will bring copies of the following forms to each trial: Observer, Time Sheet, Award Nomination (four copies per tiral), Clerk and Bailiff Notes, Case Packet and California Mock Trial Competition Team Rulebook.

We also ask that all county coordinators secure lapel pins, stickers, pens or other items suitable for dispersing at the state finals. For the Los Angeles County team, CRF has secured a donation of lapel pins from the LA County Protocol Office. Coordinators should contact the local county protocol office, the city’s chamber of commerce, or the winning team’s school for pin or other donations. This should be as simple as a phone call and a fax about the program. Students will be able to exchange these pins informally all weekend, including the student social and the dance.
