Movie Screening: Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope

Join Constitutional Rights Foundation and Children's Hospital L.A. as we present a special movie screening of Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope, a documentary about how doctors, teachers, and social workers are making strides to reduce the impact of childhood toxic stress.

After the movie screening, teachers will hear from Dr. Karen Imagawa, an expert in child abuse at Children's Hospital L.A. Dr. Imagawa will share practical tips for teachers and school counselors on building resilience in young people. CRF will also provide classroom-ready lessons linked to science, health, and social studies standards.

Dr. Karen Imagawa practices developmental-behavioral pediatrics. Her education and training includes medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), David Geffen School of Medicine and residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Imagawa's areas of clinical interest consist of child abuse and traumatic brain injury. Dr. Imagawa is affiliated with Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

This program is offered to Los Angeles County middle school and high school counselors and ELA, social studies, science, and health teachers.
